Rattansi Trust co-sponsors the Fourth East Africa Philanthropy Conference

The Rattansi Trust recently co-sponsored the Fourth East Africa Philanthropy Conference organised by the East Africa Association of Grantmakers.

The conference was held on the 24th and 25th July 2013 at the Sarova Whitesands Hotel in Mombasa, Kenya.

Rattansi gives Ksh. 12m for Scholarships.

Rattansi Educational Trust gave grants worth Ksh.12 million (171,428US Dollars) to 18 colleges and universities for bursaries to support poor students.

Presenting the cheques, Rattansi Educational Trust chairman Dr. VH (Mrs.) Rattansi thanked the university of Nairobi for hosting the event and emphasized that it is the Trust's vision to contribute to the development of the country through investing in young people.

Rattansi Chair recieves Order of the Grand Warrior

Mrs Vijoo Rattansi, the chairperson was awarded the Order of the Grand Warrior of Kenya (OGW) in recognition of her immense contribution towards the welfare of the underprivileged. The Honours and Award was bestowed on her by his Excellency Hon. Mwai Kibaki at State House Nairobi on Jamhuri day 12th December 2006.

Ford Foundation supports the establishment of the "Dr. Hassanally Rattansi Endowment Fund

The Ford Foundation was instrumental in the establishment of the Endowment Fund. With support from the Ford Foundation, Rattansi Educational Trust, launched the 'Dr. Hassanally Rattansi Endowment Fund' in the year 2006. A Fund that is to be endowed by all who value education as a means of fighting poverty.

Ford Foundation gave support for capacity building and automating the Rattansi office. The Trust is highly indebted to the Ford Foundation for the invaluable support, and for guiding us when we needed guidance.
